Frequently Asked Questions

How often should pedestal cranes be inspected?

OSHA and API require frequent and periodic inspections, depending on usage and environment. Most offshore cranes need detailed inspection at least annually and more often in harsh conditions.

What standards govern pedestal crane inspection?

Inspections reference OSHA 1919, ASME B30.6, and API RP2D, ensuring full compliance with recognized industry requirements.

Can this course be customized for my site or crane type?

Yes. On-site training can be tailored to your equipment, maintenance procedures, and documentation needs.

Does Crane Tech offer refresher or requalification training?

Yes. Crane Tech offers refresher training and written/practical evaluations to support continued inspector competency, with evaluation results valid for two (2) years. Refresher training or re-evaluation may be needed sooner if inspection scope expands, equipment types change, or standards are updated.
