Is Rigger Level II CCO Certification the right course for you?

  • You already hold CCO Rigger Level I certification (formerly NCCCO) and want to expand your rigging capabilities.
  • You want to gain the knowledge and confidence to plan lifts, calculate loads, and select rigging based on capacity and geometry.
  • You’re looking for a complete program where Crane Tech manages all training, applications, and exam administration.
  • You want hands-on instruction that prepares you for CCO Rigger Level II certification
  • You’re pursuing certification that demonstrates advanced skill, judgment, and safety leadership in rigging operations.

After this course, participants will be able to:

  • Calculate load weights, sling tensions, and angles.

  • Determine center of gravity and load stability for multi-point lifts.

  • Select slings, rigging hardware, and below-the-hook devices based on load capacity and configuration.

  • Identify lift points and plan safe load paths and lift sequences.

  • Inspect and apply rigging in accordance with OSHA and ASME standards.

  • Perform complex rigging tasks independently and safely.

  • Confidently sit for the CCO written and practical exams for Rigger Level II certification.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need Rigger Level I certification before taking this course?

Yes. CCO requires candidates to hold Rigger Level I certification before attempting the Rigger Level II exams.

Are the CCO exams included with this training?

Yes. This course includes both the CCO written and practical exams, along with guided preparation and hands-on training designed for advanced rigging applications. Crane Tech handles all exam applications, scheduling, and administration directly with CCO.

How does Rigger Level II differ from Level I?

Rigger Level I focuses on performing basic rigging tasks using provided load weights and configurations. Rigger Level II expands those capabilities—allowing riggers to calculate load weights and angles, select rigging based on capacity, and plan complex lifts independently.

How long is CCO certification valid?

CCO certification is valid for five years. Recertification training and testing are available through Crane Tech.

What if I don’t pass one of the exams?

Our team will guide you through your options and help plan your next steps. In some cases, a practical retest may be completed immediately if time and resources allow. Written exams include a CCO-mandated waiting period before retesting, and we’ll assist with scheduling and preparation for your next attempt.
